
After studying Theatre and Film at Bristol University, Tor (Victoria) co-founded a dance-theatre company and choreographed an opera for the Royal College of Music. She also taught theatre studies and directed several plays before focusing on writing. Her debut novel, A Thousand Paper Birds, was published by Bloomsbury and longlisted for The Authors’ Club Best First Novel Award. It was translated in France, Italy, Russia, the Netherlands and Germany. Since then, Tor has been Keynote Speaker and Short Story judge at York’s Festival of Writing, and a Guest Speaker at Arvon. A Thousand Paper Birds has been optioned for a feature film and is currently under active development with A Wren Bird Company. She lives in Oxford with her husband and two children.
