Jenny Savill
Jenny is from Nottingham, studied Mediaeval History at St Andrews, and joined ANA as assistant to Andrew Nurnberg in 2002, after several years working in the theatre.
She is known for building award-winning writing careers, and steering authors of both children’s and adult books to international success.
After initiating and building the children’s list at ANA, Jenny added adult fiction to her roster in 2012. Her authors include internationally bestselling novelist, Natasha Pulley, Shirley-Jackson Award and three-times August Derleth winner, Catriona Ward, bestselling horror writer and Hugo Award-winner, Thomas Olde Heuvelt, C J Skuse, author of the darkly comic Sweetpea books, now an award-winning Sky TV series, New York Times bestselling children’s author, Cornelia Funke, and internationally acclaimed graphic novelist, Fred Fordham.
Jenny is open to submissions, and is currently looking for accessible literary fiction, upmarket women’s fiction; romance; literary horror and sci fi; speculative fiction and ghost stories; suspense, crime and thriller; comedic fiction, and historical fiction. Within all of this, she is looking for compelling, page-turning stories that break new ground, whatever the genre.

On the children’s side, Jenny is on the look-out for compelling, child-centred voices in 7+, Middle Grade and Young Adult fiction.
Across both adult and children’s writing she looks for a high level of craft, while seeking in particular originality, depth, and the ability to move and surprise.
Outreach and de-mystifying the business of agenting are important to Jenny and throughout her time at ANA she has been a visiting speaker at universities across the UK. She has been the returning guest lecturer on the creative writing MA at Nottingham Trent University since 2014. She has also spoken at numerous literary festivals and organisations such as Arvon North, Writers’ Block North East, The Writing Squad, Huddersfield Literature Festival, Nottingham Writers’ Studio, MsLexicon Leeds, Writers & Artists, Writers’ Weekend, Jericho Writers, and Spread The Word.
Jenny led ANA as Managing Director between 2022 and 2025 following the retirement of founder, Andrew Nurnberg.
