Serena Molloy

Serena Molloy is a secondary school teacher living in Galway, Ireland. Her debut middle grade novel, Wider Than the Sea, was published by Hachette Children’s in 2023.

Exploring the issue of childhood dyslexia through the medium of blank verse, Wider Than the Sea is inventive, playful and incredibly moving. It won the prestigious Eilis Dillon Award which was presented to Serena at the Dublin Literary Festival. The novel was also shortlisted for The Week Junior Book Awards in the novel-in-verse category. Her second novel, The Tree That Sang to Me, published in 2024 to wonderful reviews.
