Congratulations to Keren David, whose YA novel CUCKOO (Atom, 2016) has been nominated for the 2017 CILIP Carnegie Medal.  This year marks Keren’s fifth nomination for the prestigious award, which is voted for by librarians and honours an outstanding book written for children and young adults. Keren’s previous titles to be nominated are WHEN I WAS JOE, LIA’S GUIDE TO WINNING THE LOTTERY, SALVAGE and THIS IS NOT A LOVE STORY.

The longlist and shortlist will be announced in February and March 2017 respectively, while the medal winner’s announcement will be held in June 2017. Next year will also see the CILIP Carnegie Medal celebrate its 80thbirthday, while the Kate Greenaway Medal celebrates its 60th.
