A former newspaper columnist with the London Daily Express, Patrick Robinson was the author chosen to write the autobiography for US Navy SEAL Marcus Luttrell. The subsequent book, Lone Survivor, was number one on the New York Times Bestseller List in the summer of 2007, and remained on the list for six months. Robinson, the author of 10 previous techno-thrillers, received national acclaim for his work with Luttrell and the eyewitness account of that heroic but desperate battle in the Afghan Mountains.
Almost every one of Robinson's novels has featured spell-binding actions by the US Navy SEALs. Nimitz Class, Kilo Class, USS Seawolf, Barracuda 945, Hunter-Killer and Ghost Force are among the best known of these International bestsellers.
During this period of his writing career, Robinson wrote his number one bestselling autobiography, One Hundred Days, with Admiral Sir Sandy Woodward, former Flag Officer, Royal Navy Submarines, and Commander of the Battle Group which defeated Argentina in the Battle for the Falkland Islands in 1982, who was his principal naval adviser.
His other titles include the International best-seller Born to Win, written with the Australian helmsman John Bertrand, who finally removed the America's Cup from the New York Yacht Club in 1983. He also wrote the Sports Book of the Year, True Blue, which was made into a movie, as well as the thoroughbred racing book, Decade of Champions, which President and Mrs. Reagan presented to Queen Elizabeth II in Windsor Castle in 1982, as the official gift of the United States.
Patrick Robinson is 67 and divides his time between Dublin, Ireland, and Cape Cod.
