Journalist and writer Peter Conradi (not to be confused with Peter J Conradi) is a graduate of Brasenose College, Oxford and Ludwig-Maximilian University, Munich. During a long career as a foreign correspondent he was based in Moscow, travelling across the Soviet Union and witnessing the collapse of Communism, and also spent periods in Brussels and in Switzerland. Since 1998 he has worked for The Sunday Times in London.

During his time in Russia, Peter wrote The Red Ripper: Inside the Mind of Russsia's Most Brutal Serial Killer, the story of mass-murderer Andrei Chikatilo, (1992 Dell Publishing Company Inc. in the US and Virgin Publishing Ltd. in the UK), and Mad Vlad: Vladimir Zhirinovsky and The New Russian Nationalism, which appeared two years later (first published by Econ Verlag, Germany). His latest book, Hitler's Piano Player: The Rise and Fall of Ernst Hanfstaengl, was published in the US in 2004 by Avalon Publishing Group Ltd. and in the UK in 2005 by Duckworth Publishing.

He is currently working on a new project for 2009.
