Helen Moss was born in 1964 and grew up in Worcestershire and Saudi Arabia.

After a degree in psychology and philosophy at Oxford University, Helen went on to do PhD research at in the Department of Experimental Psychology at Cambridge University. Her studies investigated the way that the way that the brain stores and processes the meanings of words, and how it can be damaged, for example in dementia, stroke or head injury. She continued her studies in this field for fifteen years, holding research posts and lectureships in London, Glasgow and Cambridge Universities (not simultaneously).

She recently spent a year in Portland, Oregon USA with her family, and on returning decided to switch direction and devote herself full-time to writing - something she had always wanted to do. She signed up for some creative writing classes and was immediately hooked.

Soon after joining ANA Ltd, Helen's talents were spotted by Amber Caraveo at Random House Children's Books, who signed her up to write a series for 9+ readers - SUPERSTAR HIGH - writing as Isabella Cass. The first two books in the series, NOBODY'S ANGELS and THE TIME OF YOUR LIFE, are published in August 2009, with two more to follow in 2010.

Helen lives in a small village just outside Cambridge, with her husband, two young sons, two border collies, two guinea pigs, two dwarf hamsters, twenty hens and a cockerel called Wilfred.
