Franck Pontais is a Chef Traiteur - an artisan chef specialising in the creation of exquisite French 'handmade' food. Born in Paris in 1972, he left school at 14 to train as a butchery apprentice, later entering the prestigious French culinary school CEPROC. In 1994 he was head-hunted by Harrods and moved to England to work there as a Chef Traiteur, before being poached by Selfridges, for whom he launched the Traiteur department in their new Manchester store. He went on to work for a high-end catering company, creating banquets for celebrities and the royal family. Since 2005 Franck has been running his own Food and Catering company, Food Creation; has had a string of TV and Media appearances; and is developing his own line of cookery products. Following the success of his first self-published book, 'Terrines and Verinnes', he is currently developing his second, 'Le Traiteur'.
